Kooddoo Fisheries Complex (KFC) serves as the central cold storage hub of MIFCO. The skipjack fishery is primarily concentrated in the southern region, and MIFCO oversees fish collection, freezing operations, and the supply of frozen tuna from Kooddoo. The facility comprises four cold storage units with a total capacity of 2,000 MT, supported by 19 brine tanks for daily fish freezing and a complete setup for fish sorting by species and size. Fishermen land their catch at the KFC jetty as well as to collector vessels operating in the area. Once landed, the fish is brine-frozen and stored in cold chambers after sorting. Kooddoo also provides fishermen with essential supplies, including ice, fuel, water, and convenience store services. Operations at Kooddoo officially began in 1998.
