Mohamed Anas is the Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Executive Director of the Board of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO), appointed to the position on 30 April 2026. He is a finance and public-sector professional with experience in financial management, debt management, corporate governance, risk management and public-sector administration. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The Maldives National University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting with First Class Honors from Inti International College Subang, in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire. He has further undertaken professional training with the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank in areas including public debt management, debt strategy, economic analysis and investment fund management. Prior to joining MIFCO, Anas served as President of the Privatization & Corporatization Board. He previously held senior positions at the Ministry of Finance and Planning, including Deputy Minister, where he oversaw the Debt Management Department, and Assistant Director of the Debt Management Division. Anas has also worked in the corporate sector as Audit Manager at Housing Development Corporation Ltd., with responsibility for risk management. In addition to his professional career, he has experience in academia, having served as an Associate Professor at Maldives Business School. With experience across government, state-owned enterprises, corporate management and academia, Mohamed Anas brings a broad understanding of finance and institutional management to his current position leading MIFCO.

Mr.Abdullah Faiz is the Chairman of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO), having been appointed to the Board of Directors on 1 September 2026. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business and a Diploma in Strategic Marketing Management from the Polytechnic in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in addition to further studies in Ukraine. He is a Maldivian entrepreneur and business leader with over three decades of experience in trade, commerce, hospitality, marketing, shipping, and private-sector development. Throughout his career, Mr. Faiz has held several senior leadership positions, including Chairman of State Trading Organization PLC (STO), Secretary General of the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Director of Marketing & Promotions at Villa Hotels. He is also a founding member of several business and industry associations in the Maldives. With his extensive experience in business leadership, trade, entrepreneurship, and the Maldivian private sector, Mr. Faiz brings valuable expertise to his role as Chairman of MIFCO.

Shimaz was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors of MIFCO on 7th December 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology from Limkokwing University, Malaysia, along with an AAT Certificate in Accounting from the Informatics Training Centre. He began his career at MIFCO in the Accounts Department, gaining early exposure to the company’s finance and operational functions. In 2003, he joined the State Trading Organization (STO), where he has since built a strong professional background in information technology. Throughout his tenure, he has contributed to key IT improvements and system upgrades within the organisation. Currently serving as the IT Manager at STO Plc, he brings valuable expertise in both IT and financial processes, supporting MIFCO’s strategic direction as a member of the Board.

Salah Shareef was appointed to the Board of Directors of MIFCO as a Non-Executive Director on December 12, 2023. His academic foundation is a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mysore, India. Salah possesses extensive institutional knowledge, having begun his career at MIFCO in 2004 as a Senior Officer in the Human Resources Department at the Kooddoo Fisheries Complex. Over his tenure, he progressed through various critical roles, including Head of the Human Resources Department at Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives and Human Resources and Administration Manager at the MIFCO Head Office. He also gained valuable operational experience as the Operations and Logistics Manager. This long history within the company provides him with a deep understanding of MIFCO’s day-to-day functions and challenges. He currently holds the position of Managing Director of Atoll Getaways Pvt. Ltd., showcasing his leadership and business acumen outside of the public sector.

Zuleikha Yoomee Rasheed was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO) on April 19, 2024. Yoomee currently serves as a Planner at the Ministry of Finance and Planning, a role that gives her a vital perspective on national development and fiscal strategy. She brings an extensive background of over 15 years in urban development, having played a pivotal role in shaping major projects across the Maldives. Her experience is broad, covering some of the country’s most significant urban development initiatives, including land use planning, master planning, infrastructure development, and regional development projects. This comprehensive expertise will be crucial in guiding MIFCO’s long-term strategy and strengthening its corporate governance structure, ensuring alignment with national economic goals.

Reesham Mohamed Shareef was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors of MIFCO on 9th October 2025. He serves as the fishermen’s representative on the MIFCO Board, providing valuable insight and perspective from the grassroots level of the industry. With over 22 years of hands-on experience in the fisheries sector, Reesham brings a wealth of practical knowledge in fishing operations, vessel management, and sustainable fishing practices. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in the day-to-day realities of the fishing community, advocating for the welfare and development of fishermen across the Maldives. His extensive background equips him with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector. Reesham currently serves as the Captain of Asdhaan Dhoani, where he continues to demonstrate strong leadership, technical skill, and commitment to the responsible harvesting of marine resources.

Fathimath Ghaziya Fathuhee was appointed to the MIFCO Board as a Non-Executive Director on 22 July 2026. With extensive experience in economics, public finance, financial management, and risk management, she brings valuable expertise to the Board, particularly in overseeing financial and accounting matters. An economist and public finance professional, Ghaziya has built her career across sovereign debt management, public financial management, accounting, auditing, and fiscal risk management. Her experience combines strong technical expertise with a practical understanding of financial governance, accountability, and public-sector finance. She currently serves as Deputy Director General and Head of the Debt Management Department at the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, where she is involved in government financing, debt strategy, risk management, external financing, and financial oversight. Through this role, she has developed extensive experience in navigating complex financial and fiscal matters. Earlier in her career, Ghaziya served as a Debt Strategy and Risk Management Consultant at the Ministry of Finance and worked in financial and compliance auditing at the Auditor General’s Office. These roles have provided her with a broad perspective on financial controls, accountability, risk management, and good governance. Ghaziya holds a Master of Economics and a BSc in Applied Accounting and is an ACCA professional. She brings to the MIFCO Board a valuable combination of financial expertise, public-sector experience, and a strong commitment to sound financial management, effective oversight, and good corporate governance.
