Integrity in Action: MIFCO Employee Recognized for Rejecting Bribery Attempt

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has recognized an employee for demonstrating exceptional integrity, honesty, and exemplary moral character in the workplace.

Joodh Ibrahim, who serves at the Kooddoo Fisheries Complex as a QA Inspector, was honored after firmly rejecting an improper proposal from a fishing vessel that sought to bypass the company’s established procedures and inspection stages through bribery. He promptly reported the matter to management, thereby safeguarding the company’s reputation and reinforcing its commitment to transparency and ethical standards.

In recognition of his principled conduct and professionalism, management has promoted Joodh Ibrahim from Junior QA Inspector to Senior QA Inspector.

His Certificate of Recognition was presented during the Maahefun held to welcome the month of Ramadan. The certificate was awarded by CEO Brigadier General (Retd.) Farhath Shaheer, who commended him for upholding the company’s values and setting a strong example of ethical leadership.

The CEO reaffirmed the company’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and emphasized that integrity, transparency, and accountability remain core principles guiding MIFCO’s operations.
