Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has officially launched its new premium brand, “Ranvaru,” further strengthening the company’s commitment to product innovation and market expansion.
The brand was formally introduced at a special ceremony held at the MIFCO “Masfihaara” last night. The launch was officiated by MIFCO Acting Chairman Shimaaz, and attended by CEO Brigadier General (Retd) Faruhath Shaheer, Strategic Consultant Aathif Shakoor, senior management, and staff.
Ranvaru” is a premium sub-brand introduced under MIFCO’s established “Fasmeeru” brand and represents the company’s first dedicated brand created specifically for premium-quality products targeted at the Maldivian market.

Five Premium Products Introduced
Five products have been introduced under the Ranvaru brand:
- Canned Yellowfin Steak
- Canned Yellowfin Belly
- Rihaakuru (with assorted tuna parts)
- Rihaakuru (with minced smoked tuna)
- Spicy Rihaakuru (with minced smoked tuna)
Speaking at the launch, MIFCO’s General Manager of Local Sales and Marketing, Hassan Zahid Mohamed, stated that the Ranvaru range has been developed to deliver premium quality while meeting the expectations of local consumers.
“MIFCO is committed to offering products that meet consumer expectations. In addition to the items launched today, we intend to expand the Ranvaru brand with additional product varieties in the future,” he stated.

Ranvaru has been specially developed for the Maldivian market, maintaining the same high-quality standards applied to products intended for export. In addition, economy packs will be introduced in the future as part of a separate product initiative.
The introduction of Ranvaru underscores MIFCO’s strategic focus on diversifying its product portfolio and enhancing value within the domestic market. Developed in line with the quality standards applied to export-oriented products, the Ranvaru range reflects MIFCO’s continued commitment to excellence.

A product tasting session was held as part of the launch event, where attendees were given the opportunity to sample the new offerings.
Ranvaru products are now available at MIFCO outlets in the Malé region. Customers will also have the opportunity to sample the products at the MIFCO “Masfihaara” for a limited period following the launch.
The launch of Ranvaru marks an important step in MIFCO’s ongoing efforts to expand its market presence, enhance product offerings, and create greater value for stakeholders across the fisheries sector.
