The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has completed the production of canned tuna cases to be distributed by the government to every household as a Ramadan gift.

Production began in late October and, after three months of work, MIFCO completed the entire production process today. At the government’s request, a total of 118,977 canned tuna cases were produced for this year’s Ramadan gift.

MIFCO carried out the project with the goal of completing production ahead of the government’s distribution schedule, and with 100% of the work now finished, that target has been successfully achieved.

Distribution arrangements are being coordinated by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works in collaboration with the State Trading Organization (STO). To facilitate smooth delivery to the northern and southern regions of the Maldives, stocks have already been stationed in Addu City and Kulhudhuffushi City.
