MIFCO Opens Fish Outlet in Addu City

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has opened a fish outlet in Addu City.

The outlet, located in Hithadhoo, was officially inaugurated this evening by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness, Abdulla Rafiu.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, MIFCO Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Anas noted that Addu City shares a long-standing connection with both the Maldivian fisheries industry and MIFCO. He stated that the opening of MIFCO’s first fish outlet outside the Greater Malé region in Addu City is a significant milestone for the company.

The CEO further highlighted that, together with the Addu Fisheries Complex operated by MIFCO in Hulhumeedhoo, the new outlet will contribute to the expansion of local production. He added that the outlet will enable residents of Addu City to access MIFCO products more conveniently and at affordable prices through a reliable and uninterrupted supply.

Mohamed Anas also expressed his appreciation to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the importance placed on the development of the fisheries sector and MIFCO, as well as for his continued support. He further thanked the Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, for his efforts in advancing the fisheries industry.

The fish outlet opened in Hithadhoo, Addu City, is MIFCO’s first outlet established outside the Greater Malé region. The outlet is located along Link Road, near the MIFCO-operated ice plant in Hithadhoo.

MIFCO products are now available for purchase at the outlet, providing customers in Addu City with greater access to the company’s range of products.
